Clew Bay Artists

Christopher Noble

Christopher has painted all his life and is a self taught artist who paints in watercolours and oils.  In 2010 he took early retirement to pursue his hobbies more seriously and is now producing and exhibiting many more paintings.

As well as being a keen artist he is also a passionate angler, and has a great interest in wildlife. He also plays the tenor sax. Although these interests have taken him all over the world, he is still drawn to the magnificent landscapes of Scotland, the Lake District and Ireland in particular, and his paintings reflect their dramatic skies and moody landscapes.  Christopher has also recently started a series of oil paintings of fishes and anglers with their trophy fish. These can be seen at www.fish-paintings.co.uk.

In 2009 he and his wife Elizabeth along with two other artists formed the Clew Bay Artists group.

Christopher is a committe member of the Harrogate and Nidderdale Art Club.

In 2013 he won the Avant Art People's Choice award at their Spring Exhibition for his painting of Achill Island's Trawmore Strand entitled "A stroll on the Beach".

Chris Elizabeth

Elizabeth Noble

Elizabeth first started “painting” seriously about 12 years ago when her husband and his artist friends urged her “to have a go” and join them on their field trips. Being intimidated by watercolour and a fan of Dega’s pastels she accepted the challenge and adopted that medium from the outset and fell in love with it. Her main inspiration is colour and shecan go into raptures over the colours of pastels and pastel paper. Elizabeth is also a keen gardener and loves to paint the flowers in her garden.

Elizabeth is a founder member of the Clew Bay Artists group and a committee member of the Harrogate and Nidderdale Art Club.
